Rajasthan is all set to organize Bikaner Camel Festival, among the largest cattle fair in India, from 13th January to 14th January 2018. This is an annual two day fair held in the month of January every year in Bikaner, one of the top Places to visit in Rajasthan.

Bikaner Camel Festival is organised by the Department of Tourism, Art and Culture, Government of Rajasthan with an intention of attracting more tourists to this city which is famous for its camels. Entirely dedicated to the camels, the ship of the desert, Camel Fair in Bikaner is a sought after event in Rajasthan that showcases the culture of Rajasthan in subtle way. The camels of Bikaner region are famous for their endurance as well as their strength and beauty. The festival involves lots of fun, enjoyment and excitement among the people of Rajasthan. Lots of activities are arranged by Rajasthan Tourism Department to make this festival a great success.

The festivities start off with a colorful parade of brightly adorned camels against the backdrop of majestic Junagarh Fort in Bikaner. The festival then proceeds to the sandy spread of the Polo Ground, which is followed by interesting events. Enjoy the spectacular displays of camels dressed in vibrant bridles, traditional necklace and heavy anklets showing off wonderful footwork to the lovely tunes on desert sands. Also witness the array of competitions like best breed camel, best decorated camel, camel milking, camel races, and best fur cut design of camel.

Though the festival is exclusively organized to glorify the camels, the traditional Rajasthani folk dance performances and music in the evening add largely to the charm of this festival. The fascinating Fire Dance adds glamour to the festivities. The puppet shows are also amazing. The festival concludes with a spectacular firework display which illuminates the skies of Bikaner. Visitors can also taste unique camel milk sweetmeats and camel milk tea during their Bikaner Tour.

Apart from the camel festival, Bikaner also has many tourist attractions. Junagarh Fort, Lalgarh Palace & Museum, Bhandasar Jain Temple, Laxmi Niwas Palace, Ganga Singh Museum, Rampuria Group of Havelis, Gajner Palace & Lake, Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary, National Research Centre on Camel and Shri Laxminath Temple are the top places to visit in Bikaner.
